What has happened since the summer?

Good question! What has happened??

Buncha new members!

This semester we have been particularly focused on recruiting new members. Last semester, we were down to 24 active members, but that number shot up to 35 after fadderuka. We have been all over Trondheim attending stands, and encouraging (tricking) people to join hackerspace. With the promise of pizza and a friendly community, any student can be tricked!!! Now we force the new members to sit in our workshop and yap once a week. We also forced them to eat pizza at hackstart! Muhahaha

But I gotta say, it really was exciting to see how many new members met up at hackstart. Hackstart is an event at the beginning of the semester where all the new and old members meet in the evening and get to know each other. Getting to know all the new faces is always such a joy each semester, and I bet we are all excited to get to know each other even better through our group projects.

What is happening at HS

Now that the new members are in place, we are holding a Game Jam from October 3rd to 5th! This is the second game jam that Hackerspace has held, only that we have more participants this year, which implies more games! Im suuuper ready to get started with learning Unity and making a small game. And we are excited to see what NTNUs game developers can cook up. Perhaps they might even be interested in joining our Project Group: Game Development??

What about the leadership?

Being in the leadership is fun! Making important decisions for the workshop, answering other organizations on email, attending leadership events around Trondheim. Having people rely on you is something to grow on. Being part of the people who makes stuff happen is how I would describe the leadership. It’s like we’re sending sparks around us, and boom, a big event has been organized. Get it? Heh, perhaps you, who is reading this right now, will be part of the new leadership?
